Tanya Bachman, BS, LMT, Functional Nutritionist
Tanya Bachman earned her bachelor of science from Portland State University in 1994, with a focus on health sciences. She graduated from East-West College of the Healing Arts in 2005 and has been practicing as a licensed massage therapist since. She has maintained a private practice in Scappoose, Oregon as well as worked for 9 years in a busy chiropractic clinic in Hillsboro, Oregon. As an LMT she has worked with clients in managing chronic pain and has encouraged positive life changes such as diet and exercise. She enjoys working with the Scappoose High School Athletic Dept. to prevent sports related injuries and shorten down time when they do occur through sports massage, facilitated stretching and muscle strengthening.
Tanya is currently working to finish her Masters of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine (MSHNFM) from the University of Western States Chiropractic College. In her program, she has completed courses in health and wellness coaching through the Principles of Functional Medicine, Medical Nutrition, Nutritional Biochemistry, Sports Nutrition, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Bioenergetics and Mitochondrial Dysfunction, as well as the Psychology of Eating. She will complete her Masters after the New Year, and will take more advanced nutrition coursework in Hormonal Imbalances, Autoimmune Disorders, Botanical Medicine, and Functional Medicine for Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity. She looks forward to working with clients, particularly those facing chronic illnesses such as Type 2 Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, chronic headaches, inflammatory conditions, and metabolic syndrome. Tanya looks at these health conditions as challenges to overcome, believing that they can be improved upon with nutritional therapy! She has struggled with her own disordered eating in the past, and realizes people’s eating habits are very personal and in many ways reflect our deepest selves.
